On Friday, February 5, 2021 The 2020 NL CY Young winner Trevor Bauer has agreed to a 3 year, $102 million deal with the Dodgers. Last year he recorded a 5-4 record with a 1.73 ERA and 0.79 WHIP. He also recorded 100 strikeouts. He was named the CY Young award winner and will fit perfectly with the defending champs. This could be a surprise to some as many believed he was going to sign with the Mets. As reported by MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the Mets had offered a 3 year, $110 million dollar deal, but Bauer reportedly chose LA because of total money in the first two years and to go back home to LA. His contract will break the 37 million AAV record and he will make $40 million his first year and then $45 million the second year. The third year is worth $17 million. There is an opt-out after each of the first two years. He will likely opt out after the second year. The Dodgers are the clear favorites to win back to back world series championships
